Graylands history project
Your opportunity to engage in living history
A new project will document the history of Claremont-Graylands Hospital from 1903. The hospital has played a significant role in shaping mental health history and service in Western Australia.
A History of Claremont-Graylands Hospital (working title only) will be the first major historical account of the hospital since the 1980s.
The project will draw upon new archival material, previously un-accessed government records and oral history collections.
Oral histories based on personal experiences are wanted from former patients, families, carers and staff who would like to contribute to this historical account.
We are developing a register of people interested in acquiring the publication, due for completion towards the end of 2010. Interested parties will also receive project updates as they occur.
