YouthLink

Services Provided

Through a multidisciplinary service team, YouthLink provides direct clinical services to improve the mental health of young people including:

  • Assessment
  • Individual and group counselling and therapy
  • Case Management

The team is staffed by clinical psychologists, social workers and community mental health nurses. Additionally, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers use professional and culturally appropriate frameworks to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing and mental health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and communities.

Using a client-centred approach, the service provides assessment and support with a focus on engagement and assertive follow-up. The service offers outreach where appropriate. YouthLink seeks to work collaboratively with other service providers, family and/or significant people in the young person’s network. The service is committed to delivering services sensitive to diversity of gender, culture, sexuality and disability and which respect young people’s rights about family/carer involvement. Interpreters can be accessed where required.

To assist better recognition and response to mental health problems, YouthLink also offers consultative advice and support, training and education, and participation in community development to assist agencies and communities to better assist  young people with mental health problems or at risk of developing mental health problems.
