Statewide Indigenous Mental Health Service

The Statewide Indigenous Mental Health Service currently being developed will, when implemented, support both Aboriginal consumers and carers in accessing mainstream mental health services and mental health services, in better meeting the needs of Aboriginal people.

It is envisaged that although the service will be located in Perth, it will provide a Statewide role in mental health, advocacy for Indigenous consumers and as a peak body for Indigenous mental health professionals. The SIMHS will operate with cultural integrity and provide a ‘whole of family’ approach to service delivery. There is no age cap to service provision.
