Neurophysiology Service

Please note that this service has now relocated to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Mental Health Unit (SCGH MHU).

The new location is:

UU Block, SCGH Mental Health Unit
Verdun Street
NEDLANDS  WA 6009

The Neurophysiology Unit operates as part of the NMHS MH Adult Program. It delivers neurophysiological services, including repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). rTMS is a new technique for treating Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) by stimulating the brain non-invasively through the scalp and skull.

Please be aware that, due to demand on this service, there will be a short waiting period in most cases.

The current (August 2017) waiting time is: Around 16 weeks.

While we can accept urgent referrals, there will still be a minimum waiting period of FOUR WEEKS before these can be booked.

This waiting period will be updated regularly on this website.
